  1. Past hour
  2. I sincerely appreciate the tips and help. The back window channel is already as far back as it will go. And the bottom back edge of the glass frame is touching the fiberglass at the top back of the door opening above the lock. I think the body was just a bad mold or something. It is beyond my skill level to correct at this point.
  3. Avanti Turquoise
  4. Today
  5. Paula Murphy ? (It must sound like I’m picking on women here!)
  6. The vent assembly needs to go back at the top which will correct the same area at the back. Then the back window channel needs adjusting to tilt the window out at the top. For the adjusters, check with Meyers Studebaker or Nostalgic. As a last resort, you can make some as follows: bolt, washer, (door skin), washer and locking nut.
  7. This is the best fit I can get with the vent window adjusted as far back as it will go. It looks like I need to acquire the adjusting bolts that are missing (3 to be exact, one for the lower passenger side and both for the drivers). Part number 1350482. If anyone has any, I would love to buy them. None of the vendors list them in their catalogs.
  8. Correct! You know your fluids.
  9. This interests me…. I’d like to hear more about this item!

    Avanti Dazzle!

    All done here?
  11. If it has wires and a fluid line, I would guess that it would be an electric fuel pump.
  12. You now have direct access to the AOAI Facebook Groups and the original AOAI Instagram Club. The Instagram Club hasn't been active for quite some time and we are working with the creator to see if he can access it and transfer it to us. Stay Tuned!
  13. Yesterday
  14. Which one of the following original Studebaker Avanti exterior colors was (apparently) Avanti team designer Tom Kellogg’s favorite? 1) Avanti Gold….2) Avanti Turquoise…..3) Avanti White….or….4) Avanti Red
  15. There's a good story that goes along with the answer to this one, so I'll wait a bit longer for a correct answer.
  16. Pretty sure Valvoline engine oil
  17. Ashland is correct! Now, for two bonus points, name the brand of engine oil used at Bonneville.
  18. 1984 Avanti ‘Touring Coupes’ were equipped with top of the line Recaro Model …..?….. leather front seats. 1) A….. 2) K…..3) C….or…..4) BBS
  19. More info on the ‘HO’ engines.., Most ‘83 model year Avantis were equipped with the ‘LG4’ code 165 horsepower 305 engine…… Late ‘83’s and most ‘84’s and all ‘85 Avantis (except the Touring Coupes) were equipped either the ‘L69’ 200 horsepower 305 engine.
  20. Sure would like to hear who it was!!
  21. Ashland (I think!)
  22. The Bonneville Avanti driver question is difficult and isn't getting answered, so let's try an easier one. What brand of gasoline did Avantis use for the Bonneville speed runs?
  23. It was not Barbara Neiland.
  24. Exactly the kind of information I was after. Thank you all. I now have a good idea of what to expect as I evaluate a vehicle to purchase.

    Red Hot Hawk!

I’m no doubt looking for trouble, however if anyone out there has a Packard Caribbean dual quad intake manifold collecting dust under their work bench,…. I’d be interested in purchasing! (352-374)

    Uncle?
  27. Yes, although some knock the 305, I find it to be a good reliable engine!..,My ‘83 Avanti ‘everyday driver’ has one, and it’s never let me down in thousands of miles……Happy Memorial Day!
  28. Could it possibly be Barbara Neiland?
