I used the SDC forums contact page and sent email to webmaster. I don't understand why it is working for me and not others. I did notice that other than my 2 test posts, there is no activity since sometime around 6:00 p.m. EST yesterday.

Hi All- I've followed this thread with a good deal of interest because I will be putting RQB3269 back on a new Frame soon. The matter of shimming has been an interest to me. This thread prompted me to look at my reference photos and the 1 1/2" x 2" x 1/8" steel Shims at the rear of the Hogtroughs were stacked 5/8" and at the Firewall they are a stack of six BIG 1/4"plates giving 1 1/4" lift above the horseshoe shaped Stand. this means there was a 'rotation' upward at the front end. Interestingly these all fall within Group 2103-116 but exist as three different part numbers... 287685, ('oldie'- listed in 1959 parts book as an engine mount 1/4" spacer in group 0101-40), 284488 (I'll assume these are 1/8") and an additional different one at the top of the stack of longer length to provide better bearing on the Fibreglass floor which I will only assume might be 1336199. So all up, I don't see a 2" lift even at the front end. 🙃 Dont'cha just love this forensic stuff !

You could try this one https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Edelbrock-4405-Oil-Breather-Cap-Round-Steel-Chrome-Push-In-,110027.html

That’s true… expensive at the time and even now… but probably well worth it!

The car was offered for 100k by the owner prior to donating to the Crawford.

Not sure I’d call it a “beef”. The broad picture is that you’ve made a number of derogatory comments about anyone who does things differently than you. Everyone is an idiot or a fool with their money. “Typical Americans” spending their own money however they choose. Shameful, isn’t it. You’re obviously the smartest guy in the room. Well, maybe the second smartest. I’m no longer listening to the smartest guy in the room, so by default, you’re the smartest guy in my room at the moment. I’m still reading the room. So far it doesn’t really seem like you want to share ideas or listen and try to understand experiences other than your own. What you do is your business. Same goes for the rest of us. Let’s try talking cars and prices and see if we can look past the differences we may have with others.

Same here.

Maybe I should try from a PC. I've been attempting to access from my cell phone. I cleared the cookies and history, but I still can't access it.

I am confused. It has been working fine for me all morning.

It may seem to some that I’m being unfair to the Stude Forum Administrator.. however, problems such as this have sadly become fairly common on that forum. The sloppy handling of his administrative responsibilities is indicative of a person who has held onto that position for way too long… Time for ‘new blood’ for Studebaker forum administration…. A ‘healthy’ move for a currently stagnant venue!

OK … I’ve heard of that… Thanks.

Not sure when it went out… but as of now it’s still offline

Don't have any experience with hydro boost on Avanti, but did have it on Dodge Cummings 1 Ton and Airstream motorhome. Worked well for those larger, heavier vehicles. For those who don't know, hydro boost brakes are powered by the power steering pump, not engine vacuum.

Just curious, what time was the outage? I was able to access several times on the 31st.

Bob.. So what is your beef with me? Assuming again? Yes I started a thread and it's went 6 pages ..Some ballistic and some reasonable.. You determine where You fit. (I have my opinion) The subject spans a myriad of experiences and methods...That was my intent is to not only see pricing for our vehicles but others experiences..
-
Frankly, I’m not even sure what that is!!
-
Has anyone installed a hydroboost system on their Avanti? If so, any recommendations?

In case anyone may be interested, there’s an ongoing story about the four year restoration of my Golden Hawk. It’s been an interesting journey.. a labor of love really! The story/photos can be viewed on the “56J ONLY’ online quarterly website periodicals….. (Don’t let the ‘early on’ photos scare you!)…..Ed

You actually started this thread to ask about average selling prices. Or so it seems.

Another ‘J’ owner… NICE! Would you have an extra Caribbean intake manifold you’ve been tripping over and want to sell???? Mine… stick o/d with p/s!

56J's forever!!! Yes! I have two of them, both almost rust free. Stay tuned: someone will get a good 56J cheap. --Dwight, powered by Packard
