What major mechanical component, factory installed on the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette, would have to be considered much more technologically advanced than the corresponding 1963 Studebaker Avanti component?

disc brakes

No Gary:(, the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette was not factory equipped with disc brakes.

Fuel injection

No, not FI....Although Chevy offered FI on the '63 'Vette to beef up their 'little' 327, Studebaker offered a supercharger on their '63 Avanti to beef up their 'little' 289....i call that a 'wash'!:o

Also, those early GM mechanical fuel injection units were trouble prone, with many 'Vettes so equipped retrofitted with carbs later on.
