The Mustang we know which came later was code named "Allegro" and by that time Studebaker had already been using the Avanti name on its car. mfg Posted September 10, 2018 Author Report Share Posted September 10, 2018 And brad is CORRECT here!......The Ford concept car which Gunslinger refers to, the 'Allegro', (introduced at the '64 New York World's Fair), was originally known as the 'Avventura', then 'Avanti',... until Studebaker claimed that name!....Ford then settled on the name 'Allegro'.
