mfg Posted August 28, 2018 Report Posted August 28, 2018 (edited) Studebaker chief engineer Eugene Hardig wanted the Avanti body to be made of steel for all the following reasons EXCEPT.............? 1) Fiberglass wasn't a Studebaker legacy.......2) Fiberglass wasn't 'consistent'........3) Fiberglass wasn't part of Studebaker's 'inner experience'......or.......4) Fiberglass wouldn't be strong enough to 'hold up' Edited August 28, 2018 by mfg
r1lark Posted August 28, 2018 Report Posted August 28, 2018 Well, I can't answer this because I thought Gene Hardig was the one who decided the body couldn't reasonably be built in steel, and so made the decision to use fiberglass. Oh well........................

Oh well........................ It seems Eugene wanted to use steel, however, the money for tooling (and the time) simply wasn't there! Any other thoughts on this trivia question?
