mfg
The frame for Studebaker Avanti R5653 was manufactured by ----------------?
r1lark
Well, I was going to say Budd because I read the question too fast..........then noticed this was one of the last "EX" reserialed cars. After looking at the production order for this car, I'm not sure about the frame. So, I will say it was built up in the Studebaker Engineering Department. Paul feels the frame for this Avanti was put together in Stude's engineering dept......Any other thought on this question?

studegary
I figure that it was a convertible frame with the back section cut off and a piece of exhaust tubing put across the rear. So it was whoever was making Lark frames then. I'm guessing Budd.
