John Brissette Posted July 23 Report Posted July 23 The original switch has failed as near as I can tell. What have you used to replace the mercury switch, which to my limited knowledge, are no longer available (NLA)? Thanks John
Gunslinger Posted July 23 Report Posted July 23 Electronics suppliers and Amazon have mercury switches. They won’t look like the originals but will work.
brad Posted July 27 Report Posted July 27 Usually it's just a poor internal connection. I take them apart, clean the contacts, and put them back together with the end caps from a slow blow fuse from my well. The mercury part of the switch is a glass sealed cartridge and it's the outside of that connections, that corrode.
John Brissette Posted July 28 Author Report Posted July 28 Thanks Brad. The replacement I purchased should arrive today. Minor money. I'll try what you did and see if I can do the same. I appreciate your response. John
