Lubrication for Climatizer (heater and vent) cables

I've had good luck using a "home brew" penetrating oil made from a 50/50 mixture of Acetone and Automatic Transmission Fluid. Brush it on the cable housing or wipe it with a rag wetted with this; it works pretty well.

Does anyone have a recommendation for lubricant for these cables?   Age and mild corrosion contribute to resistance to operate easily.   Same thing for hood and trunk release cables.  Thx

I usually lube the conduit with WD-40, then brush white grease on the attachment ends...and do this a couple times a year.

WD seems to also work well on door lock mechanisms, and door and deck lid hinges.

I use it too in order to be sure I haven't gotten Covid and lost my sense of smell

I did it with regular engine oil. Just brushed it in with a toothbrush. Worked well but if I would do it again I would use this mixture.
