lschuc
If you were not at the Muscle Car and Corvette National show last weekend in Chicago, here are a few photos of the Studebakers. Thanks again to Ed George who does not get enough credit for all that he does. He was everywhere doing everything. We are lucky to have him champion the Studebaker brand. mfg
Thanks for posting that last photo Lew....I would guess that the Bonneville #8 Avanti was set up the same as the late John Hora's #9 car.....Do you know of any differences? (besides color!!!!!)
lschuc
From what I have heard, both cars were very similar. The #8 Avanti was supposed to have been the record-setting car, but for whatever reason, the #9 Avanti ran faster and so the #8 car was changed to the backup car. Gunslinger
The #8 car had an overheating issue and was relegated to photographic and backup status.

I've heard that....makes me wonder what could make a Granatelli prepared Avanti overheat??
mfg
Anyone out there happen to know the current status of Bonneville Avanti #9?
lschuc
Last I heard it was still in the Studebaker National Museum.

I guess that's a proper place for such an historic Studebaker Avanti....although I must say that if I had the resources to purchase it, I'd just have to get it out on the road a little!!
