Screw for securing clamp on steering column at rag joint

The 12-point screw on my '63 Avanti that secures the clamp at the rag joint on the steering column has seen better days. I understand it is not available.  What do others do when substituting  the screw? Ref.: Illustration no. 1301-7, p/n 1557280.  Thanks, Bill

I would assume you could get one off a new rag joint.

Good assumption.  However, new rag joint comes without screw.  It is a unique screw - no longer available.

Fair enough, if you get stuck I should have one but I'm sure you could get one in the US.

Nostalgic advertises a “rag joint bolt” in the latest Avanti Magazine. Not sure if that is the one you are looking for.

Dan Booth at Nostalgic Motors has those bolts available for $5; I just bought one along with the rag joint last week.
