BillyBob
The 12-point screw on my '63 Avanti that secures the clamp at the rag joint on the steering column has seen better days. I understand it is not available. What do others do when substituting the screw? Ref.: Illustration no. 1301-7, p/n 1557280. Thanks, Bill Edited June 13, 2021 by BillyBob typo
1963r2
I would assume you could get one off a new rag joint. pb
BillyBob
Good assumption. However, new rag joint comes without screw. It is a unique screw - no longer available.
1963r2
Fair enough, if you get stuck I should have one but I'm sure you could get one in the US. Talk to Larry Shier, his details are on the studebakerswap site. pb
Footer
Nostalgic advertises a “rag joint bolt” in the latest Avanti Magazine. Not sure if that is the one you are looking for.
adamderosa
Dan Booth at Nostalgic Motors has those bolts available for $5; I just bought one along with the rag joint last week.
