mfg
Light up thresholds, like many BMWs and Mercedes. not a new trick. Not a 'new trick',...but I've never seen that on any other Avanti......Correct Answer!
plwindish
There were numerous items done on the 100K ++ restoration that most likely are not on any other Avanti. The electric power steering is an item also that probably isn't on any other Avantis yet.
Gunslinger
The car in question went from Fantom to Dover last summer without adequate testing to make sure all was ok. Those threshold lights didn't turn off when the door was closed and ran the battery down. With an electric trunk release and no backup way of opening the trunk the owner was stuck and couldn't get the trunk open. That's one of the flaws in the original design...if the inside trunk release breaks or otherwise fails, and you have a trunk full of luggage or other items that keep you from using the shop manual method of opening it...you are stuck in a big way. I was parked a few spaces away from that car and brought a portable jump starter just for such occasions. He was the first (and so far only) person to use it and get his car started. Gunslinger
Someone else would have had a set or a set of cables to jump start his car. I just happened to be there when I saw them trying to open the trunk.
