1963r2 Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Hello Everyone, Does anyone have any recommendations for an electric fuel pump on an R2. Due to an a/c installation I don't have any room for the original pump so I'm looking at an inline electric version. Thanks Peter
Gunslinger Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 There's quite a number of electric fuel pumps on the market. I have an Edelbrock electric pump on my car as it came with the fuel injection system. Check out Summit Racing or Jegs and you'll find quite a variety. Electric fuel pumps should be mounted back near the gas tank and new rubber lines should be used...original design rubber fuel line isn't made for pressure so buy fuel injection rated lines for safety.
Avanti83 Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 I'm a fan of Carter. Here is where I put mine. Probably easier places to get to but it's under the tank and the outlet feeds directly to the outside of the frame. This is obviously a II but I think it will fit the other side as well. Summit Racing has a decent selection of pressure and volume. Bob
1963r2 Posted June 26, 2014 Author Report Posted June 26, 2014 Thanks Gents, Bob that's the same location I was looking at. Many years ago I bought a Mallory for this job but now I find it to big for that location. Yours looks a lot shorter and a nice fit. Thanks pb
