I'd like to get some emblems like those for my Magnum 500's. My wheels are great, but the caps don't all match!
-
From what I've gathered, it was used from 73 to 76, at least. Luckily, I don't need one but it was just bugging me that I couldn't find any information on it.

The answer to this question is: FALSE!
With the help of some Mopar guys, we think we have found the right wiper switch! Don't expect to find a replacement at your local FLAPS, though.
It's from a 1972 AMC Matador or Ambassador.
If anyone would have one, I imagine it would be Dan Booth.

I had the same problem last year and figured it was a heat soak problem. I bought a newer, smaller, permanent magnet starter here and haven't had a single problem since.

I had mine apart a couple weeks ago, and it turned out to be bad wiring and not the switch, but out of interest I tried to find a suitable replacement. This is as close as I could find, and the back of the switch is identical to mine. The knob is different and there isn't a washer button that I know of, though.

And this is one is comparable and much cheaper. I was thinking of buying one "just in case"!

Turquoise? Just grasping at straws now.

In 1973 the Avanti II used a wiper switch from a Chrysler Imperial. True of False?
(I have a selfish reason for asking this...)
-
At some point you have to give us the correct answer!
-
The next question is: who has done this and does it help? Mine is down low and I hate it.
-
Red.
-
Well that isn't pretty! I suppose at some point I'll have to pull them apart just to have a look.
-
I hadn't heard that one. I guess I better check my crossmember for cracks!

I just swapped all my old gauges for new S/W gauges last year. I put this speedometer in and it works just fine. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sww-550bp-d
My original one was a 160 mph gauge, but I don't think it's range has anything to do with how it's calibrated. My new one is just as accurate as the old one, maybe better!

I'd have to guess a Galaxy, it's a pretty good sized unit.
-
My 73 most certainly came with a 400 motor and the TH400 transmission, which I think lasted until at least 1976, maybe till 79? I know the 1980 model had a 350 motor and by 82 they were using the 305.

OK, I'll bite; seems plausible to me. Although as I recall it was the late 70's when they reached their production high point?
-
Good, glad to hear you solved the problem!
-
The distribution block/proportioning valve is similar (or perhaps identical) to a late 60's (69 or later, I think) Mustang or the Mustang II. You can probably use whatever you can find from a front disc/ rear drum car in that era if you can make the plumbing work. I think there are some photos floating around here on the forum that I posted of mine, and I believe a couple others have posted also.
Mine is a 73, so it could be slightly different than yours was originally, but I can supply some pictures if you need them. If you're not worried about staying original, there are some good aftermarket options, too.

I do watch Jeopardy on a regular basis and wish I would have known you would be on it, since I have no idea what you look like and I assume Billy Shears isn't your real name. My hat is off to you for even qualifying to be on that show. I'm usually lucky to correctly answer more than a handful of questions on any given night, and I don't have the pressure of having a TV camera on me while I race to squeeze a buzzer!

I like the sign, but I have something different in mind than Warren & Tracey's Finest for the WTF.
I'm sure I have no idea what you're talking about.
-
I decided to make this sign up with a good friend of mine (Tracy) after a few conversations we had about our automotive adventures. I think you'll be able to relate!
As we always say, what could go wrong?

I'd be curious to hear, too. If it works, it would be a much cheaper alternative it seems.

I have no experience with that system, but it looks like that probe is designed to be inside of something. Either the radiator or the overflow tank?

Nice work as usual, Tom!

The last picture of the emblems looks like more of a solid, glossy plastic piece that a sticker. That's what I'd like to find!
