  1. Just spotted this for sale on Bring A Trailer. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1963-studebaker-avanti-67/?utm_source=Iterable&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=campaign_2648441
  2. Looks to me you did an outstanding job, can't see any flaws. What quanity of dye did you order? Is it safe to assume that there will be zero transfer of stain on your clothes when you sit on them. I think I can come up with a few things that I might have to do that too.
  3. Which one is the new correct color? top or bottom
  4. I have no idea on where to get a new top, as mine is in fantastic shape. But since you seem to own one, do you know where to purchase a windshield? I tried a couple glass shops for my 1991 conv and came up with zip.
  5. I think they only built # 2 nine cars

    Avanti Radio!

Trying to think like a "bean counter" I would say no, why waste the money, they didn't order a radio so they get nothing!!
  7. Lets go with #3. 80%
  8. I pulled my stock two core radiator and had it remade into 3 core still staying the almost same dimensions to fit within the alotted space. The shop took the measurments and figured what they could buy for a core, reused my side tanks. It did help in lowering the engine temps some. The radiator shop was local to me and seemed knowledable about doing what I needed. Don't recall what I paid but it seemed like a decent cost. I have a 91 conv.
  9. Looks like you cleaned up the bottom very well. When I used to blast the bottoms with walnut shells they looked like yours, very smooth and clean.
  10. Rear side windows that opened? or front seats that folded forward?
  11. To my knowledge there are only 7 or 8 of the 1991 Convertibles, I bought mine in 2017 from a fellow who owned it since 1994 he said. On power, it is just the standard 305 GM motor and it is a cruiser, not a hot rod at all. I keep kicking around to repower mine, then somedays I think I should sell it and get something else. I do know it gets a lot of attention when we take it out for a ride. They are nice riding and comfortable, just not quick.
  12. I think it made a huge improvement in the look, nice job you did.

    Mothballed

Even here where I live in Arizona we get snow, so the Convertible is locked inside a nice warm garage till next spring. Hope your area is able to recover from that terrible storm.
  14. You did an excellent job of face lifting the dash. Looks new again.
  15. Lets guess on this one, 2. Mercedes
  16. We leave for the winter and will have the Avanti locked up in the garage, so once we return will decide on our course of action. Been looking at just buying a GM new 350 with about 350 hp that would bolt right in and would sure make the repower pretty simple. Or by then we decide to just sell it off. All these decisions make my head hurt...
  17. I ask You to give to Samaritans Purse, You ask and I just did. Looks from so many videos that Samaritans Purse is there helping with all their might. Money is what they can use and will spend it a lot better than our government folks will. Thanks for your endorsment.
  18. plwindish I agree, your red 1988 looks great, I also changed the rear gear to help with the poor get up and go. Switched to 3:73 Posi, helped some, but still not all that much fun to run around in. Going to a 383 would be a lot less expensive and just as fun as a LS. It would be a drop in too, with no major work to pull the 305 and drop a new one in. Don't know what I could get for it should I decided to sell, there are VERY few 1991 convertibles 7 or 8 or think. The fellow who owned it before me said it was the last one made, but i'm not so sure about that. It sure draws attention on every drive, gets thumbs up and smiles. Thanks for telling be about yours.
  19. I going to guess with a light foot #4 17-22
  20. Have a 1991 Converible we bought in 2017 and have had a blast with it cruising around town. It has the 305 power and is not fast, but comfortable and looks pretty nice. So I'm at that point to pull the motor and install a LS, or a more powerful 350/400 or just sell the car off and get something else. Neighbor said it would ruin the value of the car by installing a LS, but would make it really fun and fast. Since I own it I can do as I please and if I changed the motor and when I die my wife would just sell it anyway. She never drives it. Suggestions are welcome...thanks
