When a restorer comes across a Studebaker Avanti mechanical part stamped 'A63', it would tell him..........?............

Sometimes markings on parts mean little or nothing now, especially parts procured by Studebaker from other suppliers. They would have meant something at the time they were used, but their meaning may have been lost to time. ?
