mfg Posted November 17, 2018 Report Posted November 17, 2018 So what's so special about Avanti ll RQB1661?
Gunslinger Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 Built for Raymond Loewy? That was about the time frame when he purchased one.
r1lark Posted November 18, 2018 Report Posted November 18, 2018 Last Avanti II to use the 4-bolt style master cylinder?

I don't presume to take msg's thunder but you are correct...RQB1662 was the first to use the new booster and master cylinder so RQB1661 would have been almost the last to use the 4-bolt master cylinder and booster...RQB1665 also received the 4-bolt. It must have been built out of sequence.

mfg Posted November 18, 2018 Author Report Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) r1lark and Gunslinger are on to something here!.....Not only was the change made cocerning the master cylinder mounting on (or about) RQB1661, also high back bucket seats, AMC steering column, Stude rear brakes changed to GM type, etc! PS...I have THUNDER??...WOW! Edited November 18, 2018 by mfg
