The very first (pre-production) Studebaker Avanti was assembled in........................?

I remember an early article on the Avanti development by Fred Fox, who quoted Gene Hardig saying they built the first prototype in secret because of a union strike, then smuggled to the Proving Ground. So.....the first Avanti was assembled......in secret.

Yes, that must have been a very interesting (and exciting!) time at Studebaker......but we're actually looking for the location (city) where that first Studebaker Avanti was put together.:huh:
