A driveshaft made for a 1964 Avanti with automatic transmission will interchange with a driveshaft made for a 1967 Avanti with automatic transmission.......True?

I would guess yes since they both have the same transmission.  But then again I am not sure what if anything  was changed when they went to flanged axles.

Maybe they were a different length due to the different motors used.

Good thought!:)

Were the diameters different, such that the larger diameter shaft would rub on the x-member? Why different diameters? Maybe because of engine/trans elevation in frame changed between Avanti and Avanti II?  Really reaching here. :)
