Stainless steel ignition shielding was not standard equipment on all 1966 Avanti ll's.............True?

Well, my Avanti 1966 equipment/price sheet does not list the stainless shielding as standard or optional equipment. So I'll say TRUE.

(Although this may have been something that they would not have taken the effort to list as standard equipment...............)

I don't know if the RFI shields were or weren't installed but if the Corvette crate engines came equipped from GM with them I would think they would have been left on when installed in an Avanti.  I'm guessing GM didn't supply crate engines with them as there was no way of knowing what kind of car the engine would end up in.  The RFI shielding would certainly have been available through GM parts.

I agree that Corvette crate engines were probably not supplied by GM to Avanti Motors.
