Whlnut Posted April 10, 2018 Report Posted April 10, 2018 I'm restoring my '63 R1 and have the front suspension apart. The service manual shows how to set alignment, but I don't see how turning the eccentric pin can set both caster and camber. I also don't see why the hex adjuster on the pin has to be in the rear. Please help set me straight. Thanks, Ed
PackardV8 Posted April 11, 2018 Report Posted April 11, 2018 The outer pin is both threaded and eccentric. Threaded moves fore and aft, adjusting caster. The eccentric has only a half-turn effect on camber. If more camber is needed, the inner pin is also eccentric and can be flipped 180-degrees to change camber. FWIW, it always comes down to turning in as much positive caster as the adjustment will allow and then setting camber. jack vines Obsolete Engineering Division of Mager Engine
