mfg Posted January 13, 2018 Report Posted January 13, 2018 In 1987, the first Avanti to be delivered to a private owner by Kelly's New Avanti Corporation was the THIRD car to be manufactured......True?
Gunslinger Posted January 14, 2018 Report Posted January 14, 2018 I'll say true. Mike Kelly had a habit of retaining the first car of every new series for himself. The second may have gone someone else in the company like his dad.
studegary Posted January 14, 2018 Report Posted January 14, 2018 True. Mike Kelly kept the first two 1987s for himself. One was a coupe and the other was a convertible. I purchased the fourth 1987 Avanti sold to the public, no. ---006.
mfg Posted January 14, 2018 Author Report Posted January 14, 2018 Gunslinger & studegary are CORRECT here! That's interesting Gary purchased '87 Avanti # 6!....If you still have any pics of it Gary, please post a few! PS...#3 was purchased by a fellow named Duff.
studegary Posted January 14, 2018 Report Posted January 14, 2018 I don't have pictures of it to post. It was/is a black coupe. In 1988, I drove it to South Bend for the SDC/AOAI Convention and took a First Place, therefore it would be pictured in "Turning Wheels" in the 1988 meet issue.
