mfg
What is the immediate subject of concern after installation of 'R3 type' front engine insulators (mounts) in an R1 or R2 Studebaker Avanti?
studegary
Fan blade clearance and other clearances, like fuel pump.
r1lark
Gary is most likely right. I don't have any experience wrenching on Avantis, but...............I'll say the first thing to check is the clearance between the oil pan and the steering bellcrank/tie rods. That is also a good clearance to check.
mfg
studegary, r1lark.....It is a clearance concern....and the points you mention should definitely be looked at....but there's another 'clearance issue' of major consequence! HINT...p/s equipped Stude Avantis only!
Ron.Strasser
If I remember correctly part of the steering bell crank that hits the belt on the lower pulley. I think it was the grease fitting.
