mfg Posted February 2, 2017 Report Posted February 2, 2017 In retrofit Paxton supercharger oil cooler kits, where is the oil pump located?
brad Posted February 3, 2017 Report Posted February 3, 2017 They have two pumps the regular internal one, and the oil cooler circulation pump externally located.

brad Posted February 5, 2017 Report Posted February 5, 2017 There were two different setups. One was the more common dipstick type you see, and the other utilized a pump that looked like a fuel pump mounted near a sump tank.

CORRECT!...In the Paxton kit, the oil pump is located inside the oil dipstick!...The 'outside pump' was a 'Granatelli thing' not released (I don't believe) to the general public!
silverstude Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 (edited) The outside pump was a tank mounted under the right fender with a 12V fuel pump (yes) moving the oil. I have pics if you want to see one. Interestingly, the Due Cento had oil coolers under the parking lights for each of the superchargers Edited February 7, 2017 by silverstude

mfg Posted February 7, 2017 Author Report Posted February 7, 2017 Never seen any of those photos before!....They're VERY interesting....Is this one of the nine production R3's? (probably not)...Or one of the early 'X' cars?????????
silverstude Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 Production Avanti with many of the Granatelli "improvements". These pieces were sold by Granatelli to the owner of this car, but not without a lot of arm twisting.
