mfg
True. Apparently, you are CORRECT!...It's been said that two '64 GT Hawks were ordered in the 1964 'Avanti Maroon' color (P-6336)..... I believe that I saw one of those two Hawks here in Mass. when it was brand new! (late '63)
studegary
Even though they may have been the same color, I doubt that they were the same paint. Avantis were painted with lacquer and other Studebakers were painted with enamel.
mfg
Yes, the Hawks would have definitely been painted in enamel, however, the Studebaker factory paint dept. would have had little trouble mixing 'Avanti Maroon' in enamel!
