mfg
The diameter of the factory drain hole in Studebaker Avanti underfloor support boxes (hog troughs) is 1/4".....True?
Gunslinger
False...there are no drain holes in the hogs. If there were, moon roof equipped cars wouldn't suffer rusted out troughs so badly since the moonroof drains are routed into them with no place to go...not that non-moonroof equipped cars don't also suffer. One would think either Studebaker or Avanti Motors would have had drain holes installed...maybe with removable caps to allow draining.
mfg
Gunslinger feels that Studebaker did not provide a drain hole in those Avanti 'hog troughs'....Any other thoughts on this?
brad
i think the hole just in front of the rear outrigger (in front of the rear spring hanger) is about 1/2"
