mfg
On the South Bend assembly line (Avanti bodies built in SB) Studebaker would apply enough lacquer 'color' on Avanti bodies for complete coverage, then follow with two coats of clear lacquer.....True? r1lark
I'm going to say 'false'.......not that I know a whole lot about how Studebaker painted the Avantis, but just because I don't remember lacquer paint jobs being 'cleared' back in the '60s. brad
No clear was used. Although i' used to use clear to blend out a repair, so metallics would stay put when dolor sanded.
