mfg Posted November 8, 2015 Report Posted November 8, 2015 Removing the engine's thermostat from a Studebaker (or Chevy) engined Avanti will not help the engine run cooler.....True?
Avanti83 Posted November 8, 2015 Report Posted November 8, 2015 (edited) If it not overheating I'll say yes it will run cooler false Edited November 8, 2015 by Avanti83
mfg Posted November 8, 2015 Author Report Posted November 8, 2015 Avanti 83 says false....is he right?
Avanti83 Posted November 8, 2015 Report Posted November 8, 2015 Just for the record, I know the answer should be true, but as with all of these open ended questions there are scenarios that would make it false and it only takes one instance to do so. Bob
mfg Posted November 8, 2015 Author Report Posted November 8, 2015 Fairly straightforward question (IMHO) .... Answer.....TRUE!
Gunslinger Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 All it will do is take the engine longer to reach operating temperature but won't affect whether the has an overheating issue. It will also run richer longer than it would otherwise...plus put increased pollutants until it reaches operating temp.
