Footer Posted yesterday at 01:56 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:56 AM True or false- In 1967, still stinging from Checker Cab’s insult to the Avanti, Leo Newman challenged them to a drag race with a 300hp 4spd Avanti. When Checker showed up with highly modified cab, Newman pulled the plug on the race and the rift was never healed.
Dwight FitzSimons Posted yesterday at 04:28 AM Report Posted yesterday at 04:28 AM Other than Checker's insult to the Avanti I have never heard any of this. Rather than a drag race perhaps a more appropriate answer to the insult would be a challenge to the opinions of a panel of artists. Who do you think would win that? Or, perhaps a suggestion that the president of Checker should have his head examined. Having two artists in the family I am aware of the training and natural skill required to be a successful artist. What was Checker's president's artistic portfolio? --Dwight
mfg Posted yesterday at 06:00 AM Report Posted yesterday at 06:00 AM False…. A Checker with a souped up Chevrolet engine under its hood does sound like the ultimate ‘sleeper’ though!!
Footer Posted 1 hour ago Author Report Posted 1 hour ago MFG is correct, the answer is false. In this over the top photo, the only thing real is the Avanti, the rest is all AI, even the guy with his greasy little hand on the hood. The important point of this is that a picture is no longer worth a thousand words. AI can be used for a fun true or false but we all need to be aware of its misleading potential. I put this together in a matter of minutes with my novice ability, so think of what a nefarious actor might do. Keep on your toes and stay safe! Mike
