This should probably go under classified,...but anyway, there's a '64 Avanti for sale on the NY craigslist....A rough but complete and unmodified R1/auto car,in the beautiful Turquoise/Turquoise '64 color combo.

Yup, if somebody local had the room for it and will to part it out, they could make some money and help folks out. Hate to see these cars like that, but I understand it's hard to put $20k-$30k into something to build a car worth maybe half that depending on the market.

I think it really comes down to how much of the restoration labor one can do himself.

Labor is a large part of the financial equation on this Avanti.....If you have to farm all that labor out.....forget it!!

Totally not ready for this, and I'd rather an '85, but that's nearly exactly the condition in which I want to start. To me at least, it's certainly a D.I.Y. project.

I'll bet this '64 Avanti can be had for $2000 or less......There really are no takers in the New York area??

Would appear to me that the Back Glass, Hood, and other body panels would be worth more than that.

If I had an economical way to get it here and a place to keep it , I'd buy it .
