tanda62 Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 While restoring the headlight buckets on my 63 I scraped off some gasket material where the bucket comes in contact with the body. I cannot find any reference to a gasket and the parts book does not list one for the round headlight Avanti only for the square headlight. So I guess I need to make a gasket for this unless someone knows of a place that makes one for this location. Thanks, Tom
RoyG Posted March 17 Report Posted March 17 When I cleaned up mine the material I removed seemed more like a flexible mastic tape material than a gasket. I had some metal building roof mastic tape laying around so I used that. It forms to fit, is sticky as hell, and never dries hard/brittle. It might not be original, but no one will ever see it and it won't leak!
1963r2 Posted March 22 Report Posted March 22 Try looking for Hawk or Lark gaskets. I think the only difference in the bucket is the location of the hole for the wiring.
