mfg Posted January 27, 2022 Report Posted January 27, 2022 The Fairchild C-82 aircraft that was used in Studebaker's "Avanti Airlift" program indeed still exists.....True?
Gunslinger Posted January 28, 2022 Report Posted January 28, 2022 True…the fuselage only and is owned the Hagerstown, MD based Hagerstown Aviation Museum. The fuselage…AFAIK…is stored at a facility in Wyoming. The Museum hopes to bring the fuselage to Hagerstown and turn it into a classroom/demonstrator on how the aircraft was assembled. No idea what happened to the wings.
brad Posted January 28, 2022 Report Posted January 28, 2022 It was at the famous Hawkins & Powers facility at the Greybull airport in Wyoming. Last I saw it, it still had wings on it.
