mfg
The top cover on the t-86 3 spd standard transmission used in a few 1963-'64 Studebaker Avantis should be installed with its vent hole facing rearward......True?

I do not know, but facing forward makes more sense. The vent would be higher and upon acceleration the fluid is forced to the rear. The net is that I say False. r1lark
False, the hole in the gasket goes to the rear, and the vent hole in the cover goes to the front. Same as any T-86.
