mfg Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 The rear brake drums on Studebaker Avantis will interchange with the front drums used on '54-'64 drum brake V8 Hawk models.....True?
brad Posted July 20, 2014 Report Posted July 20, 2014 No they are 2" wide, and differnt offset. Front drums are 2 1/4 " wide
mfg Posted July 21, 2014 Author Report Posted July 21, 2014 No they are 2" wide, and differnt offset. Front drums are 2 1/4 " wide Sorry...but the answer is....TRUE!
AnAvantiR1for Bob Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 Can't be true as question is written because there were no 1954-55 Hawks - V-8 or otherwise. (Yeah, picky, I know , but what a difference an "and" can make)

(Yeah, picky, I know , but what a difference an "and" can make) That's OK,...... you're absolutely right...I should have written '54-'64 V8! This is the kind of info younger folks that don't know all that much about these cars need to hear.
Gunslinger Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 (Yeah, picky, I know , but what a difference an "and" can make)What are you...Bill Clinton, Jr? :-)
AnAvantiR1for Bob Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 Not even close, Gunslinger, but that is a funny comment I swear that I have only had non-sexual relations with an Avanti! Though they are sexy cars, IMO.
