Trivia....Studebaker Avanti power window regulators are interchangeable left to right simply by reversing the central 'lift assist' spring.....True?

Reminds me of a story I heard about Brooks Stevens where he designed some doors to be interchangeable.  He told me the Doors (on cars) were the most difficult item to design - can't recall if he meant the cost.........

I met him at his museum in Mequon, WI (Milwaukee).  Really nice gentleman.
