17" wheels

I've been thinking about getting a set of 17" wheels for my Avanti. I just like the look of more wheel and less tire. For those of you who have gone this route, can you provide any details regarding what fit, what didn't, what tire sizes you used and also any negative observations such as harsh ride, abnormal tire wear, hard steering , etc.

It continues to boil down to rim width and back spacing, Tom, SBCA96, put 17" Mustang wheels on his Avanti and I have a set of pre-2005 17" Bullit Mustang wheels set to go on my 74.

I have not gone to the bigger wheel, I just decided to go to a bigger tire to suit my taste.

However, I found this site http://www.tacomawor...r15-235-70r15 which is a great calculator for physical sizing.

Good luck, I am sure there are some very attractive larger wheel/tire combos.

I just like the look of more wheel and less tire.

I'd agree 17"s look fine, but I can't get behind the 19", 20" and bigger on an Avanti.

Interesting. It's an old guy thing, but I like less wheel and more tire.
