Yes the power lock was preventing the door to open due to getting wet. I am planning to just remove it as the car is never left on the street.

Got the door open thanks to your help. Now it is time to start working on the power windows. I also have the seats out as the sliders were rusted I will never get done with this car. Move on to the rugs after the windows. .

Thanks for the advice. No click so I must assume that is it. I will have a good weekend project removing the door panel with the door closed but that is the reason we are in the hobby.
Thanks

The door will not open. The car has not been on the road since 2005 and I am in the middle of resurrecting it. Another issue is that the car was in hurricane Sandy that has presented a lot of challenges . I have flooded the locking mechanism with WD 40 with no success.
Am I missing something simple to get the door to open.

Saw the car at Dover. More discussion on this topic on the SDC forum. I can not immagine how much this project cost. Was at Fatomworks for 50+ weeks.

New member any assistance is appreciated. Looking for the best practice to correct a hood that is separating. Can any one recommend a glue or epoxy that will hold up.
Thanks, Bill Hanlon

I am new to your group. Just purchased an 83 Avanti and having an engine exchanged, I can not wait for the spring to meet the open road.
When I was in High School in 1962-1966 each day the school bus would pass a Studebaker dealer and I would immediatly turn my head to admire the Hawks and Avanti's on the lot and in the showroom. Now semi retired I am meeting my dream having purchased a 62 GT Hawk last year and getting it back on the road; I will now start on the Avainti recreating that vision again --but now in my own garage.
