Dayton wire wheels. Still manufactured when I checked 3 years ago
-
I gave up and took it to a respected body shop. Not perfect but much better than I could do.

Also, if I were to want to remove/replace it, where the heck IS it or what does it look like? anyone with a photo or drawing of the thing and/or its whereabouts? My longer term plan is to probably install a remote for the locks, since they are already power locks, and that install will probably include its own alarm anyway.
Mine was under dash around fuse panel. Lots of wires. Box about 3”x4” 1/2” thick.

My 1983 had a UNGO alarm system. I could never figure it out and it was a constant pull on the battery. I had an alarm/audio guy rip it out.

On my 1983 one is the Fog Lights and the other is the rear defrost. Neither is a momentary switch.

Do you have a Napa part number?

Dan Booth at Nostalgic has a multi page ad in the current issue of Avanti Magazine featuring replacement dash and gages.

Check in with Bob Ziff at AvantiParts.biz. He has helped me with my 1983.

I do not have a dust cover on my 1983. Would be interested in a source. Always thought something was missing but low on my list of must do items.

I sent the information on the Dana cruise control to Bob Johnstone who has posted it on his web site.

In 1983 it should be a Dana unit. I have a user guide for it. Has a parts list and instillation guidance. Send me a PM with name and address and I will mail you a copy.

I had a mustang with this issue, it ended up being the torque converter. See attached article http://www.agcoauto.com/content/news/p2_articleid/203

Yes. First I removed as much of the old binding material by slipping sand paper between and I used my Oscillating saw with the below fitting where separation was the largest. Wipe down with mineral spirits. Apply the epoxy. Then clamp being careful that you are aligning the inner and outer hood. I let the product cure for over 24 hours. I did one side at a time.

I used a 3m panel bond product to correct the separation of the inner and outer skin of the hood. My issue was along the front outer edge and about 50% up the passenger side. So far it is holding up after one season. https://www.amazon.com/3M-Adhesive-Manual-Applicator-Sticker/dp/B00KSF9TCW/ref=asc_df_B00KSF9TCW/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312198394684&hvpos=1o3&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16426298871750729568&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011523&hvtargid=pla-569426468864&psc=1

I performed this project in the spring of this year. You do the project from the exterior. When bringing up the one side the other started separating. I did it one side at a time and it is now in and does not leak.
To prepare the metal edged and get the old epoxy out I used a oscillating saw with a rasp tool bit
https://www.lowes.com/pd/ROCKWELL-Sonicrafter-Carbide-Oscillating-Tool-Rasp/50188775
I built a jig out of thin ply wood and glued an old towel to to the bottom to protect the paint and to spread the compression load from the clamps. See the attached photo.

The round vent is for air intake to the blower fans.

I jack on the front crossmember at the steering pivot point. And place the jack stands rear of the front wheels near the start of the x frame. This allows access to all of the lube points. I do not know if this is the ideal position but it works for me.
I look forward to hearing other suggestions/recommendations.

I have the trouble shoot and install brochure that came with the 1983. It contains a lot of detail on the proper set up. (30 pages Dana Corporation 1980)
PM me your address and I will copy and mail it to you. My scanner only does one page at a time otherwise I would post it.
I have this same project on my “nice to do list” but I have a lot of “must do” in front of it.
