Radio Static

Are there any modern audio systems that do not require the shielding to prevent radio static?.....I'm looking for an AM/FM radio for my 79 Avanti II.

I have no static    -  with an  unshielded HEI ignition and 7mm wires.    The spark plug#'s  are ? at this moment but will add #'s shortly.  They may be different that yours as my heads are the Dart II flavor.     The entertainment is a Kenwood 1000(?) (late 90's vintage) cassette  - AM/FM. ,

Note that installation of radio antennas on Corvettes and Avantis was typically on the rear quarter.  More than a styling issue, it was to get the antenna further away from the engine electrical.
