In a 1971 interview, Arnold Altman estimated that about .......?........ Studebaker Avanti  shop manuals were originally printed.

1) 5,000......2) 10,000.......3) 15,000......or.......4) 20,000

I'll guess 4) 20,000,as that was the hoped-for yearly production.

Not saying that I am correct, but in 1963 shop manuals were mostly for dealers.  VERY FEW new car purchasers bought a shop manual for their new car.  I am  a car guy and I didn't buy a shop manual at least until the car was out of warranty.
