Transmission Fluid

I'm going to have to add fluid to my trans after I fix the cooling line. The question is what fluid should I put in? Thanks in advance for any response.

I would use Dexron.  There are others that are more knowledgeable than I on this and hopefully they will chime in.

Your '69, unless it's been swapped out, will have the Borg Warner PowerShift.  Ford Type F will give you firmer shifts, Dexron will give smoother shifts.  If you don't know what's in it now, flush the transmission and use whichever type you feel fits your driving style.

From recommendations I've seen over the years, many seem to believe the Ford Type F is closer to the original ATF specified by Studebaker and Borg Warner.
