jlportugal Posted July 24, 2017 Report Posted July 24, 2017 HI Restoring my AVANTI 2 1981, I noticed that the buzzer that makes a sound when the headlights are left on is working when the ignition is on ( and while the car is on the road) and that it stops when I remove the key. It seems to be working in the opposite way it should. Any help? Thank you in advance for your help JL
Jim78 Posted July 24, 2017 Report Posted July 24, 2017 It sounds like the buzzer circuit is wired to the wrong terminal of the relay (N.O. vs. N.C.). Finding the relay is the challenge. I would disconnect the buzzer temporarily, and listen for the click of the relay (somewhere under the dash) while an assistant turns the headlight switch on and off.
jlportugal Posted July 24, 2017 Author Report Posted July 24, 2017 Thank you JIM. I shall try and let you know
Mel Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 Did you get it fixed yet? I wrote an article which is in issue #170 which has a diagram for a 'headlights on' reminder circuit which I put on my '66. The article has two circuits described; the one that may apply and be of interest to you begins at the top of page 48.
