mfg
Answer.....FALSE!...The Granatellis had a manual control rigged into this Avanti's console which allowed the automatic transmissions shift points to be adjusted by the driver! lschuc
But referring to the exhaust cutouts.... Raymond Loewy had two handles on the console of the 1963 Avanti he kept at his Palm Springs home. Pull out on each cable, and his exhaust would switch to open exhausts, bypassing his mufflers. mfg
I suspect Raymond's Avanti was equipped with the optional 'quiet tone' exhaust system, and he just needed to hear that 'R' engine ROAR once in a while!
