Gunslinger
I'm guessing you're talking about the padded dash cover. I don't know about dyeing it but the factory painted it. The paint has a flex agent in it much like rubber bumper covers to give it flexibility without cracking. You need to go to a auto paint supplier and they can mix it up for you...just make sure you tell them it's for a padded dash so they know to add the flex agent. Leather can be dyed. As long as it's in good shape and not dried out you can buy leather dye. You might want to try some saddle soap and leather conditioner first to clean the leather and make it soft and supple. You might be surprised and want to leave it original once it's cleaned.
Avanti83
If it indeed is leather then contact Leatherque http://www.leatherique.com/, they have excellent products and should be able to discuss your needs. I used their products on my 83 with excellent results. Vinyl takes entirely different technology. Bob
