Avanti sending unit 1983

I just had the sending unit Purchase from Avanti parts Biz Last November A day ago.

 

I  also saw a sending unit on Studebaker Parts dot.com whiich is vastly different From the Avanti parts biz unit.Does does anybody know which one  might be better or if there's another one out there that's better???

What sending unit…gas tank…temperature…oil pressure…which?  Different brands can look different but do the same job.

sorry , its the gas tank - Avanti parts  biz is  sending a new one that is not subject to fluctuation and also thinks it may need a second grounds wire.

The sending unit provides a variable ground for the gauge action, but there is also a standard ground wire on the sending unit as well.  The gauge also has a "white ground wire" on it which either connects to another gauge ground or to the dash frame.  Since the car is fiberglass, the grounds are extremely important.  An ohm meter can be used to check each of the grounds to see if that is the problem.  Lastly, the gauge can also be failing if everything else tests good.

Thanks very much I will have that checked out.  

Hope its not the guage as I don't see many out there.
