Guy Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 What if the insturment overlay were made thicker, strong enough to support the gauge cluster on its own, then you could remove the whole unit gauges still attached, no need to lay on your back or remove dash. This would neccesitate cutting the fiberglass dash buck out behind gauge overlay to provide clearance for the brackets holding the gauges to the overlay. Any thoughts or input on this idea welcome.
Gunslinger Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 I don't see why it's not possible...just takes money, time and some talent. You would have to add extensions to each gauge wire or things would come off when pulling the cluster. You would also have to make sure of a solid electrical ground for the gauges and lights.
Mel Posted January 22 Report Posted January 22 The oil pressure gauge and speedometer hookups are the two I'd look at closely before proceeding. Keep us posted.
