Rack and pinion conversion

My Avanti II rides and drives well but the steering is typical 1960’s old school feel!  
 

Has anyone done a successful R&P conversion using a rear steer set up!  Appears there is plenty of room for a rear steer rack with center pivot tye rods like was used on some Pontiacs and possibly some foreign cars!

I have thought about this myself and found 2 cars whose owners had done this, images attached.  I don't know where the racks came from, just saw the images that were shown when the cars were being sold.

I have a brand new center steer power rack of unknown fitment but it could work well for such a modification. I'd let it go real cheap...contact me for details

my 79 has r&p already but it's part of the c4 vette clip that was spliced onto the original frame.
