Mark63Avanti Posted September 18 Report Posted September 18 The Ocean Bay Chapter of the Studebaker Driver's Club met last Sunday and when there's a flock of Studebaker's it draws a crowd. This fellow was asking about my car and when I turned to answer him I knew it was (but couldn't remember his name) Steve Magnante. Along with working for Barrett-Jackson, Steve had his own series called Junkyard Crawls. He's had an episode on Studebaker plus other mentions. It was great to meet him but he looked pretty gaunt. He mentioned that he was recovering from encephalitis and was feeling better. When I got home I did a quick search and found that he has a GoFundMe page. It was a treat to meet someone who thought enough of Studebaker to include them in his shows.
aardvark Posted September 18 Report Posted September 18 I saw the episode and it was quite interesting...No mention of Avanti's which was a little disappointing. We are the end game of the Studie Corp yet we carried it on.
Mark63Avanti Posted September 18 Author Report Posted September 18 Yeah, no mention of the Avanti but then again, there aren't too many Avanti's sitting around in junkyards to look over....
mfg Posted September 19 Report Posted September 19 I always thought Steve’s show was interesting and entertaining… He does a good job at the auctions also!
aardvark Posted September 21 Report Posted September 21 Watching His show is always interesting and informative, He's a real Chrysler Fanatic, which I am not.
