Mel
You might check with All American Carburetors, Inc. in FL. 904-215-6790. They had about a 12 week backlog when I sent mine. Good luck.
TerryR2
I use RPM carburetors in Midway City, Ca. Bob is the absolute best at his work and wonderful person too. He has rebuilt and tuned several carbs for me. He has my Carters now from my R2's. He's backed up a bit now but usually can get you in within a month or so. 714-897-1452
Gunslinger
You might consider a new Edelbrock 500 cfm carburetor depending on price difference. You would have to get a new air filter base for the larger diameter but they're available through the vendors and you can still use the same top. An original Carter can certainly be rebuilt but it all depends on the dollars and whether the orange is worth the squeeze.
