mrfeez Posted July 21, 2023 Report Posted July 21, 2023 On my 63 Avanti (289) I have a opening about 1 inch in diameter that appears to be threaded, it is located about 3 inches in back of the Oil drain plug, can anyone tell me what this is for ? Thank You ( I'm working outside under the car, no garage) Old Tom
mfg Posted July 21, 2023 Report Posted July 21, 2023 (edited) Sounds like it may be the 1" opening (hole) at bottom center of the torque converter housing provided to access the torque converter drain plug. Edited July 21, 2023 by mfg added text

Gunslinger Posted July 22, 2023 Report Posted July 22, 2023 Isn’t that the access hole to drain the torque converter?
mrfeez Posted July 25, 2023 Author Report Posted July 25, 2023 Should this opening have a threaded insert ? ( is Not on the oil Pan itself )
